Afterglow is a wonderful jazz funk, acid jazz and broken beat album, with kind of hip hop rhythms in some of its musical landscapes, what confirms the evolution of these styles, scented with a fresh and personal sound, which is recognisable as Resolution 88, so up-to-date, improving, if possible, the previous album that mapped them instantly: same energy and analogical warmth of the first release, but now more powerful and mature.
According to Tom O'Grady, leader and songwriter, this album is the result of two years of intense live and studio research.
Alongside, Tiago Coimbra bass player and Ric Elsworth, who besides percussion is also responsible fro drums, have onboarded Alex Hitchcock on the saxophone.
The album was recorded, mixed and mastered in the same place and with the same team: Chris Taylor (Groove Armada, Roots Manuva), Dan Goldman (Morcheeba) and Bob Power (Erykah Badu, The Roots, D'Angelo).
